چکیده

Abstract Aim The aim of the study was to evaluate cephalometric effects elastodontic appliance (EA) in management patients presenting with a skeletal Class II/1 malocclusion. Methods Twenty II treated using EA (Group EA) were compared 20 untreated children C). Cephalograms at start (T0) and after 24 months (T1) which time, skeletal, dental, aesthetic variables evaluated. A statistical evaluation conducted by applying an unpaired t- test for normally distributed variables. Results From T0 T1, group showed significant increase lower facial height (LFH), mandibular length (Co-Gn), upper incisor cranial plane angle (1 + SN) distance between true vertical line (TVL)-soft tissue B (B’) TVL-soft Pogonion (Pog’) points. C decrease SN-occlusal (PO) ( p < 0.01), SN-mandibular (Go-Me) 0.01) total gonial (N-Go-Me) angles 0.05); reduction TVL-upper (1+), TVL-lower lip (Li), TVL-Pog’ shown. No differences observed groups dental outcomes, except LFH 0.05) Co-Gn 0.05), statistically group. Conclusion In growing patients, induces minor effects, control patients.

Treatment effects of the R-appliance and twin block in Class II division 1 malocclusion.

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of a differently designed functional appliance (the R-appliance) with a twin-block (TB)-treated group. Thirty patients (18 girls and 12 boys) with a mean age of 10.5±0.7 years were treated with the R-appliance for 16.2±0.3 months and 25 (11 boys and 14 girls) with a mean age of 11.2±1.3 years with a TB for 16.1±1.4 months (control). All had a...
